Designing with Architectural Principles + Materiality + Context + User

P3 represents the final project in semester 2 as well as a continueation of P2. Not only that, it is also integrated with our Building Construction and Material's module. As a result, us students were tasked to showcase what we've learnt so far and especially the things we picked up along semester 2. The brief for P3 was to design a retreat house that was personolized to our made up user interests. It mimiced how Architects would satisfy the personalized brief of clients.

From this project, I was really enlighted by my tutors to think outside my comfort zone for my design choices as highlighted in the different iterations of my physical models. It also challenged me to think about user experiences more than anythign I've worked on so far as I had to deesign this as if I were actually designing a livable built environment for people. That in itself was quite a lot to think about.

There was also the thought that stuck in my head for most of the project which was the integration of the building to its existing surroundings and how to design in so that it not only works in its designated spot, but also capitalize on the natural factors of the site.
